Islands released their first single off of their upcoming album to be released on Valentines Day. Got a waiting for the world to change feel to it. I saw it twice live, quite good.

Singers singing for different bands

This is Mister Heavenly- Bronx Sniper. I thought it was appropriate for my neighborhood. This band is made up of Nick Thorbun of Islands, Ryan Kattner of Man Man, and Joe Plummer of Modest Mouse. And they are awesome, Michael Cera sometimes plays base for them too.

This is Alexander Ebert aka Ima Robot Aka the lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Say what you will about this guy but he makes some kick ass music. This is off an album titled Alexander. It's really good.

Finally we have Middle Brother. This is nbsp;John J. McCauley III of Deer Tick, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, and Matt Vasquez of Delta Spirit. Middle Brother is Perhaps the most excellent of the three bands I have on here. I really can't get enough of them.

Lastly I love how the songs change the lyrics in their choruses and how the three excellent and unique voices go together.

Fela Soul

Check these out, this is the incredible Fela Kuti mixed behind the legendary rap group De La Soul's 3 Feet High album. These are two standout tracks, though  the whole album is amazing. It's called Fela Soul and you should listen to it.

Kastra

I just met this guy down in Maryland for the Virgin Fest. I'm pretty sure I annoyed the shit out of him, but he put up with my antics well. He's a super cool dude and he makes some pretty kick ass Friday night electronic music. Put him on this Friday and people will think you're cool.
